Ukraine 0 - 2 France (full-time) UPDATED

A very entertaining game, as both teams had a chance to score in this match. The match started 1 hour late as rain and thunder made the pitch unsafe for the player, and the referee decided to suspend the match. The Ukrainian fans are always on their feet when Shevchenko touches the ball, as Ukraine is all behind him in this tournament. Nasri delivered a cross which was poor, but the ball dropped to Debuchy, and Pyatov was forced to save, although it was an easy shot. Narzarenko then was lucky to escape a booking as he made a dangerous tackle on Debuchy. France scored a goal from Menez, but the goal was disallowed for off-side and re-plays showed that in fact it was off-side.

The shots of the sky shows that a possibility of another storm is there, and many are fearing that the rain will come again. France hit Ukraine on the counter attack, from which Menez fired a shot but went over the bar. The match of England vs Sweden will start 15 minutes late, because of the time which was suspended in this match. Ukraine responded with a very fast counter attack, Konoplyanka broke forward, and tried a shot which went wide. Benzema then combined with Nasri, but Benzema cross was weak, and ukraine cleared the danger away.

2nd Half

France wanted a win, and this was shown early in the half. In fact Menez had a chance with a one-on-one against Pyatov, which the Ukrainian goalkeeper saved, but Ukraine counter attacked, and Shevchenko nearly made as his shot went wide, with Lloris well beaten. But France scored a few minutes later, Benzema found Menez who shot into the net. France made it 2-0 3 minutes later, when Benzema again passed to Cabaye, and with a clean shot scored the goal for France.

France were dominating as his corner was crossed dangerously, but Pyatov cleared. France could have scored another one, when a series of passes (40 we counted) ended with Cabaye trying his luck with his shot hitting the post. Menez was substituted in the 70th minute, who had a rather good game, way better than Malouda was. Not much action was left in the game as Ukraine appeared exhausted, while France controlled the match.
