Netherlands net 6 goals!

Northern Ireland conceded 6 goals against Netherlands; the last time they conceded 6 was more than 50 years ago. The first goal came from Robin Van Persie who was completely free and netted calmly with a header. Wesley Sneijder then scored a magnificent free kick, before Van Persie made it 3 with a penalty. Ibrahim Afellay scored the fourth before half time and scored the fifth in the seconds half, before Ron Vlaar scored the cherry on the cake for Holland. This was a solid performance from the Dutch team as they are one of the favorites to win the Euro Championship this year. The Northern Ireland team had a lot of regulars missing, and this could have been the reason for such a sloppy performance. Fans questioned why the FA accepted such a challenging assignment in a time when normally their players would have been on holiday. the coach Martin O'Neill said that despite an awful performance he saw a good performance from some of his youngsters. The first chance of the match was created by Northern Ireland, but for Holland they were never really a threat. After that chance Netherlands took their chance and went on to record an easy victory.
