Croatia 0 - 1 Spain (full-time) UPDATED

First chance came for Spain from a corner as Torres gets to the ball first but heads the ball wide from six yards. Silva carves a path for Iniesta who shoots clumsily from 15 yards out and Pletikosa gathers easily. Torres has another chance as creates some space inside the area, and he manages also to take a shot from an acute angle, but his effort is saved by Pletikosa's legs. Croatia's Mandzukic makes his way into the box from the right flank, but then is stopped by Sergio Ramos with a dangerous tackle (studs showing). Croatian penalty claims are dismissed.

2nd Half

First real chance of the second half does not occur until the 60th minute, when Modric skips Sergio Ramos and delivers a perfect cross for Rakitic who heads it towards goal, but Casillas responds magnificently and saves. Replays on the big screen show that Piqie got away with an elbow, which could have been a straight red card. Modric passes the ball to Vukojevic's chest, who controls it and shoots, but Casillas deals well with the difficulty that a bouncing ball incurs. Deadlock broken late in the game as Iniesta beats the offside trap and passes is to Navas, who finishes into an open goal.
