Bafetimbi Gomis is accused of rape

Gomis is accused that he assaulted sexually a 38-year old woman, an accusation which he is denying, as he is saying that he is innocent. Gomis spent the early hours of Wednesday arrested and questioned by the police, but when he returned home he claimed his innocence on his Facebook page. The police have reportedly told the France federation that it questioned 2 players, and Lyon said on their website that they support Gomis' claims of his innocence. The French player and also the club are denying that Gomis spent some hours in police custody, which however some sources said otherwise.
