Sweden 2 - 3 England (full-time) UPDATED

Both teams are looking to stay compact at the defense, but England took advantage from a cross, and now they are looking to defend the result. Sweden were the team with the early chance but they always made mistakes in the final touch. Ibrahimovic is the man for Sweden as he's looking to get the ball, pass the ball, but also the one who shoots the ball. England chance came from a cross by James Milner, but Danny Welback's header went wide. Sweden responded with Larsson, however the shot from Ibrahimovic was blocked by Johnson. Ibrahimovic then tried his luck from way out, but the powerful shot was collected fairly easily by Joe Hart. John Terry struggled a bit to hold Ibrahimovic, but Sweden lacks as said before the final touch. England took the lead in the 25th minute, when Gerrard crossed the ball towards the box, who saw Carroll head a powerful header to make it 1-0.

Sweden despite their height are conceding way goals from headers. Ibrahimovic then made good work to find some space, but his shot ended in Joe Hart's hands. England could have doubled the lead, when Ashley Young grabbed a nice through ball, but he was slow to shoot, and the shot ended wide. England continued to press when Gerrard searched Milner, whose cross was over-hit.

2nd Half

The half was a different story. Sweden were attacking more, England defended, but their suppsoed strongest area, showed weaknesses in this half. Barely 5 minutes passed when Sweden scored the equalizer. Ibrahimovic with the free-kick hit the wall, tried agin his luck but it ended as a pass to Mellberg who put it in the back of the net. Mellberg has been the man of the match so far, as he not only scored, but even defended rather well.

England became shaky, and the chances they were having at the edge of the area were being charged down by the Swedish defense. Carroll had a chance with a header, but it was tame as Isaksson collected the ball. Sweden continued to press and got even the lead, Larsson sends a beautiful free-kick in the area, and Mellberg again scored a header, with the English defense appearing to struggle.

Terry nearly got the equalizer from a header by John Terry, but Isaksson performed a miracle to save into a corner. But from the resulting corner England grabbed the equalizer, as Sweden cleared but Theo Walcott tried a beautiful shot which Isaksson didn't even see enter the goal.

Ibrahimovic looked more and more dangerous as he was using his strength to try to get the ball. Olsson then nearly grabbed the winner from Sweden, as he dribbled past Gerrard but Kim Kallstrom's shot ended wide. But England responded with a goal, as Theo Walcott made a good sprint, passed the ball into the center and Welbeck made it 3-2. England could have made it 4 in the extra minutes, as a good run from Walcott opened the Swedish defense, then Walcott crossed, and with what seemed an easy goal Gerrad shot in the keeper. But the game ended in England's favor, as Sweden disappoints a lot this Euro.
