Luuk de Jong could be on his way to Newcastle

Sources said that Newcastle has made a bid to sign Luuk de Jong from Twente for the sum of £8 million. Newcastle have been following the player for months now; he was also included in the Dutch squad, but did not play in the disappointing performances of the nation. from sources we can understand that Newcastle have made a formal approach for the player, an offer which could interest the Twente coach Steve McLaren. However the offer price could go up as Twente value the player more, so it remains to be seen whether this offer will be accepted. Other clubs who are targeting the player are Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Inter and Juventus. Newcastle fans are fearing however that Papiss Cisse could be on the move.
