WASIFU 360: R. KELLY NA WIMBO WA SIGN OF A VICTORY

Robert Sylvester Kelly (amezaliwa tar. 8 Januari, 1967) ni mwimbaji wa muziki wa R&Bna soul-mtunzi wa nyimbo, rapa, na mtayarishaji wa rekodi kutoka nchini Marekani. Anafahamika zaidi kwa jina la kisanii kama R. Kelly. 

Alianza kuingia katika kazi ya muziki kwa mara kwanza kunako mwaka wa 1992 akiwa na kundi la Public Announcement, halafu baadaye Kelly akaenda kuwa kama msanii wa kujitegemea mnamo 1993 na kuweza kupata mafanikio makubwa kabisa kwa kazi za kujitegemea baada ya kutoa albamu yake ya 12 Play.

Kelly alifahamika sana kwa mkusanyiko wa vibao vyake vikali kama vile "Bump n' Grind", "I Believe I Can Fly", "Gotham City", "Ignition", "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time", "The World's Greatest", na hip-hoperaya "Trapped in the Closet".

Kelly pia ametayarisha na kuimba katika nyimbo nyingine kibao za wasanii wengine wa R&B na hip-hop. Mnamo mwaka wa 1994, Kelly ametayarisha na kutunga albamu ya kwanza ya mwimbaji wa R&B Aaliyah na mwaka wa 1995, Kelly ameshiriki-kutayarisha na kutunga wimbo wa "You Are Not Alone" kwa ajili ya Michael Jackson, ambao uliingizwa kwenye albamu ya Jackson, HIStory.

Kelly ameimba viitikio vya nyimbo kibao maarufu za hip-hop. Nyimbo ni pamoja na "Fuckin' You Tonight" ya The Notorious B.I.G., "We Thuggin'" ya Fat Joe, "Gigolo" ya Nick Cannon, na "Go Getta" ya Young Jeezy, na ameshirikiana na Jay-Z katika albamu mbili za pamoja.

Katika maisha yake binafsi, Kelly amekuwa na kashfa kadhaa za ngono. Taarifa zilielezwa kwamba amemwoa kabinti kadogo Aaliyah, ambaye yeye ndiye alikuwa mtunzi wake wa nyimbo. Kelly na Aaliyah wakasitisha ndoa yao. Baada ya kutolewa video ya mtu moja aliyedaiwa kuwa yeye kufanya mapenzi na msichana mdogo, Kelly akashtakiwa katika kesi kadhaa za ngono za watoto mnamo 2002. Baada ya makawio kadhaa, kesi yake ikapelekwa kizimbani mnamo 2008, na baraza la wazee wa mahakama likamwona Kelly hana kosa katika mshtaka yote 14.
