Magic Mike star Matt Bomer is a perfect example of an actor who is still making it big despite coming out and announcing to the world that he is Gay. As a matter of fact, it has created a positive effect that people come up to him. Matt shares, "I had somebody from the military approach me a few weeks ago just saying how this helps people, affects people," Bomer said. "It brought me to tears."
Bomer's coming out was very subtle. He simply thanked his longtime partner, Hollywood publicist Simon Halls, and their three children, Kit, Walker and Henry, during the Desert AIDS Fund in Palm Springs in February where he was honored.
And I believe people respected him more for being courageous enough to do so.
We've had a good share of coming out in Hollywood this year. From Jim Parsons to Queen Latifah, it seems there is more confidence and trust that people would understand and that they will be continuously supported. It's just sad that in our country, so many still chose to stay in the shadows despite numerous issues thrown at them. They continue to lie and fool people into thinking that they are straight and collect talent fees. I honestly think if would be better for them to just come out and come clean as it will be so much easier for them to sleep at night knowing that they are true to themselves.
