Happy Valentine's Day!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Enjoy my review!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I think this is the best one so far of this series.
Del and Laurel have known each other since they were little kids. They knew everything about each other. Del was very protective while Laurel seldom cries and was very independent. One "impulsive" day and everything changed for them.
The month-long journey was quite interesting. They went on romantic dates and things were just great. Until Laurel had an encounter with Mac's mother, Linda. Linda tried to poison Laurel's mind saying that Del is only with her because he could and because she was available. This nagging thought stayed with Laurel until they went on their vacation to the new beach house that Del and his sister Parker bought.
Long story short, Laurel one day poured her heart out to Del by the beach when he confronted her about not being able to understand how she feels. He was dumbfounded as most guys would react and she asked him to leave her alone. With that, Del decided to drive all the way back to his house in Greenwich overnight to get something that belonged to his mother.
The most romantic moment in the book was when Del woke up Laurel the next day and she got so grumpy. However, Del wouldn't take no for an answer and even threatened to drag her to the beach if she didn't get up. When they finally got there, it was his turn to tell her how he truly felt and next thing you knew, he was asking her to marry him and everyone in the house was roused by Parker to watch the entire thing. Then as a cherry on top, as soon as he proposed, the sun started rising on the horizon.... :)
Check out this awesome conversation between Del and Laurel :)
He broke off when she groaned. "What?"Finally, check out this conversation between Del and Jack :)
"Sorry, I always have a little orgasm when I think of vacation."
"Really? I'll mention it more often. Anyway, when we're there, I'm going to grill you such a steak. In fact, my pact now is for the men to put on a serious meal -- just the guys. All you have to do is eat."
"I'm in. I actually have a calendar going in my office where I mark off the days until. I did when I was a kid for the end of the school year. I feel like that. Like a kid coming up on summer."
"Most kids don't get orgasms when they think of summer vacation. Not in my experience anyway."
"You liked school more than I did." When he laughed, she sipped her wine. "I like my work a lot more than I did school, and I'm still really ready to step away from it for a couple weeks. I want to sleep until the sun's actually up, and stretch out and read a book without thinking I really should be doing something else. No suit, no heels, no meetings. How about you?"
"The last part's a match -- except for the heels. Not having to make a decision about more than whether to have a beer or a nap. That's be good."
"Naps." She sighed and closed her eyes.
"Another orgasm?"
"No, just a quiet little tingle."
J: "Laurel went off with Parker. Shopping."Have you read this series? If you have, are you absolutely in love with it like I am? If not, what is wrong with you? :)
D: "Did they say when they'd be back?"
J: "Dude, they went shopping. It could be an hour or three or four days."
D: "Right."
