Charlie St. Cloud Movie Review

 "It's about taking chances."

This movie put tears in my eyes. Zac Efron was phenomenal in this movie about losing someone's brother and refusing to let go. But sometimes, it is time to move on.

Charlie St. Cloud was a great sailor. He won the race with his brother in the beginning of the movie, won an award, and got a scholarship to Stanford. He was prepared to go, if it wasn't for a tragic accident that claimed his little brother Sam. In fact, both of them died, but Charlie came back to life and was given a second chance in life.

He went on for five years "mourning" his brother. He stayed where he was and didn't go to Stanford while his mother moved to Portland, perhaps to run away from the tragedy. Charlie met his brother in the woods everyday before sunset to practice baseball. His visits never failed, until he met Tess.

Tess was a former high school classmate. She was supposed to sail around the world and compete in a race. She was adventurous and risked a storm a week before she was supposed to leave. She took a chance with Charlie and found love with him. Only, it wasn't real. She'd gone missing and never came back after sailing through the storm. The person that Charlie spent time with was a ghost.

The paramedic that saved Charlie had cancer. When he died, he requested that his medallion be given to Charlie. It was supposed to be his answer to why he came back to life and was given a second chance. Turned out, he was supposed to save Tess. She wasn't dead. She was stranded in the middle of the ocean with hypothermia. Charlie found her just in time and saved her life.

This movie was full of heart, dedication, promises, and love. It was the most touching movie I've seen this year. I think this is Zac Efron's best movie yet. Definitely a must-see :)

P.S. Charlie and Tess had the cutest chemistry! I loved them together in this movie :D
