Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts Review (Bride Quartet #2)

Tears streaming down my face.. Okay, maybe just a little. This book is so BEAUTIFUL!

Let me tell you how beautiful this book is. It made me want to go out on a date and eat some pasta and have a drink! Seriously, no book has ever made me feel that way. I'm not sure if it's good or bad!

This series just gets better and better. So far, this is the most beautiful love story I've ever read. Oh. My. Goodness. It's the ULTIMATE fairy tale story with the happy ending and good sex (lol).

Emma was so beautifully described and her love for Jack was just so vivid in every page. When her heart broke, mine broke as well.

Jack on the other hand was funny and idiotic. Poor guy couldn't get a clue until it was almost too late. In the end, he was able to beg his way back to Emma's heart and get Parker's help in doing so.

Parker - she's an all-around genius. I truly admire her. I'm dreaming of buying all business suits and dressing like her. I want to be as calm and collected as she always is.

Laurel - she's funny. The next book is about her, and I have a STRONG feeling, Del is her man. As for Parker, I have a strong feeling as well who her man will be in the fourth book ;)

Mac - she's madly in love with Carter still. But even with all that, she's still such an amazing friend to Emma through the hard times.

Their friendship is so admirable and I'm really jealous. I wish I had friends like them. Life would be so much easier if I did.

My favorite chapters of this book was Chapters 6, 9, and 12. Lastly, this book was so well-written, at one point, I wished I could actually see a picture of everything being described in the story.

Now, my favorite quotes - and I tried to organize them by character :) It was so hard picking my favorite quotes because every single page had amazing, witty remarks!

Jack:
(to Emma) “I saw your mother the other day. She remains the most beautiful woman ever created…She still refuses to leave your father for me, but hope springs.”
“Okay, this is probably out of line, so apologies in advance.” Those dark, soft, deep eyes widened in surprise an instant before his lips took hers.
“You were right. I didn’t value you enough. Give me another chance. Please, give me another chance.”
Laurel:
“Wait, I lost the sense of hearing right after you said Jack kissed you.”
“Well, how was it? How did it rank on the patented Emmaline Grant spark-o-meter?”
“I wouldn’t have believed anyone could cry, almost without pause, for nearly six hours. You’d think it was her son’s funeral instead of his wedding.”
Parker - she's so
Parker merely picked up the house phone, pressed a button. “Hey, Mrs. G, can you handle the four of us for dinner? That’d be great. Thanks.” She hung up. “We’ll have chicken and like it.”
Mac:
“I demand to know why I’m mad at you so I can put some effort into it. You bitch.”
“You slut. You almost had sex with a man I never had sex with. What kind of a friend are you?”
Emma’s Mom, Lucia:
“The little things, Emma. The gestures, the moments. And the big. I let him see my heart. I gave it to him, even when I believed he couldn’t or wouldn’t take it. I gave it anyway—a gift. Even if he broke it. I was very brave. Love is very brave.”
Carter:
“I feel like a spy. Like a double agent…I kind of like it.”
Scenes:
Emma: "Why is it men think beating on each other fixes anything?"
Jack: "Why do women think eating chocolate does? It's the nature of the beast."
Del: "Do you want to fix it?"
Jack: "I just said I was in love with her. Why wouldn't I want to fix it?"
Del: "You want to know how?"
Jack: "Goddamn it, Del. Yes, since you're so fucking smart. How do I fix it?"
Del: "Crawl."
Jack: "I can do that."
Jack: "God, I feel a little sick. You could wish me a whole shitload of luck."
Carter: "A whole shitload of luck, Jack."
Can you tell I LOVE this book? I strongly suggest buying or checking out from your library the WHOLE SERIES!!!
