Euro 2012 Day 1 match predictions

As from today we will give you our opinion on how the score will be. Since we are 3 contributors we will have 3 opinions, which could be the same or could be different.

Poland vs Greece

Administrator: Poland 2 - 1 Greece.
Poland have the advantage of playing home, so the will to win the game is stronger for Poland. Greece players however are stronger physically and they can use that advantage on set pieces, so maybe Greece will stay tight at the back. Poland have all the players available with Lewandowski Blaszczykowski and Piszczek all expected to play, and all have incredible skills, which could be the cutting edge for Poland. Greece have Ninis a bit injured so he is expected to start the match on the bench. Also looking at the current form Poland's is more favourable and so I expect them to win the match.




Twanny: Poland vs Greece: 2-0

Everyone expects the host nation (in this case, co-host) to perform better than usual in a tournament, and in this match this should not differ. Poland take on financially struck Greece. My pediction is that Poland will win this match. First of all, Poland have in-form Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 24 goals this season for Dortmund. Secondly, you have to consider both their form: Poland have won 4 out of their last 5 matches, whilst Greece have not managed to grab a win from their last 4. 

Nivek04: Poland vs Greece 1-1
Poland are playing home and will want to give their fans something to cheer about as they open the tournament against Greece. Greece on the other hand are not on form but will be looking for a good display. Poland are determined while Greece have a mixture of youth and experience. I believe that both teams will cancel each other out in this first game of the tournament.
