Nerlinger: "It was a nightmare!"

For many Chelsea's performance in defending was superb, but not for the Bayern Munich sporting director Nerlinger, who saw Bayern lose the seconds time in 3 years in the final! He said that after this loss, Bayern will find it hard to get back on, especially when the money it was invested these few years, and yet it's the second season in a row that Bayern are left empty-handed. In his own words "It's a nightmare which we have experienced. It is like a bad film." For him Bayern created the chances and when they scored on the 83rd minute they should have kept the lead. He continued to say that they were the better team, but yet they lost the game; they had the chances but they could not conclude.

Even the captain Lahm could not explain the defeat. He said that Chelsea never had a chance in the game except in that corner from which came the goal, but yet Chelsea emerged winners. But unlike Nerlinger, Lahm is confident that the team will get back up on its feet after this defeat, and they will learn from the mistakes they did. He said that this defeat will make them even more superior next year, as he described it as the bitterest in his career yet. Lahm still thinks that Bayern are still in their prime, and in 3-4 years time they will be the best in the world. He concluded by saying Chelsea won the game from one corner; not always the best team wins.
