In this newly released U.S. trailer for ‘Bel Ami,’ Rob’s morally bankrupt character beds half the women in Paris — and makes Edward Cullen look about as harmless as a kitten!
Bel Ami was finally given a United States release date late month, and now Robert Pattinson fans are being treated to a brand new trailer! In the film, set in Paris during the 1880s, the Twilight star plays ruthless young go-getter Georges Duroy, who walks all over women in order to achieve a higher social status.
“The most important people in Paris are not men, but their wives,” Uma Thurman‘s Madeleine instructs Georges, a lesson he learns only too well.
On his way to the top of Parisian society, Georges — nicknamed Bel Ami — seduces Uma, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas. When he’s finished with them, he throws them away. “It’s not enough to be loved,” he says. “It’s so clear to me.”
The nickname “Bel Ami” translates to “beautiful friend” in English. We have to hand it to the producers for casting the role so perfectly!
It looks like we’re going to see a whole new side of Rob in this movie. June 8 can’t come soon enough!
