I bought this foundation last Friday and I was so excited! I had my friend film me while I was getting my makeup done. If you haven't seen it, click here.
Everywhere I look, this foundation has gotten great reviews, it's the Holy Grail of makeup gurus, etc. So when I got it, I was so excited to see if it will do the same for me.
PROS:
-It has good coverage for me. I use very little because I want it to last, but even then, it covers up my face very well.
-Blending is fun :)
-It is fragrance free. What little scent it has, I love.
CONS:
-It feels drying.
-It is very matte so my face sometimes looked like I was peeling.
-Very expensive.
SOLUTION to CONS
-I use my PONDS Dry Skin Cream moisturizer. With this, it really helps my foundation to be blended easily and not dry out my skin. I will be posting a foundation routine very soon and you will see this solution there.
-To make sure my face is not oily throughout the day, I just use Rimmel London's Stay Matte Pressed Powder foundation
OVERALL: I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!
OVERALL: I LOVE THIS FOUNDATION!
So that is my review of the very popular Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.
Will I repurchase? most likely - I just need to save my money every time I need a new foundation.
Will I recommend it? I would say buy at your own risk. If you are willing to spend that much money on foundation and you think you won't have the same problem as I did, I would say go for it. If you are really tight on cash and don't have the freedom to keep buying different moisturizers that work with the foundation, then I suggest you save up your money first and then buy later - or just settle for a cheaper foundation.
