New Bayern signing excited to battle for first-team place

Mitchell Weiser, who has recently moved to Bavarian club Bayern Munich, has already stated his intentions: he plans to cement his place in Bayern's starting eleven. Jupp Heynckes signed the 18-year-old right winger from relegated Cologne after his impressive debut season. Weiser said that he only left because the best German club came after him, and he could not let a similar opportunity go past him. Some have questioned that Weiser's transfer came too early in his life, but the teenager dismissed these by saying that in his three-year contract he could improve and become a more seasoned footballer.
