Greece earn a point

When the whistle for half-time was heard, many predicted an easy victory for Poland since the first half Poland scored, looked dominant, and will play against 10-men Greece, who didn't have a shot on target. Poland started brightly after Robert Lewandowski scored after just 17 minutes, from Jakub Blaszczykowski, and a mistake from Kostas Chalkias. However the Greek entered the second half differently, as Dimitris Salpingidis scored on the 51st minute after a mistake from Wojciech Szczesny, when he miscalculated the cross of Torosidis. Greece could have also scored the goal winner from a penalty, which saw Szczesny shown the red card. The reserve goalkeeper, Przemyslaw Tyton, saved the penalty taken from Giorgos Karagounis.
