Gazidis: "Announcement will come at the right time"

Ivan Gazidis today said that the announcement regarding Robin van Persie will be made in the right time. Last season Robin van Persie scored 37 goals goals for Arsenal, helping the club achieve 3rd place, and right now Van Persie is with the Netherlands squad for the Euro Championship. Manchester City made it clear that if the player will be available they will try to buy him, and the players remarks were unclear to assure fans. Yet Gazidis said that it's not the right time to make a declaration now. In the Arsenal website he wrote that in the end of last season they talked with Robin van Persie and had good talks. In the meeting it was agreed that what was said will be kept by themselves and so announcement will come at the right time.

Samir Nasri left Arsenal last season as the club did not give him what he wanted, and many Arsenal fans fear that the same can happen with RVP. Nasri said he left because he wanted trophies, and some fear that even Van Persie wants trophies now that he is 28 years old. Last season Arsenal started really badly and many critics said that the London club will not make it in the Champions League, but the fine form in January and Van Persie goals mnaged to clinch that place. fans are even calling Arsene Wenger to resign as he does not have hunger for more success, but Gazidis told fans to relax as their time will come. Gazidis finally said that for him the 3rd place is plausible, but not enough, as he wants to win the Premier League.
