Aston Villa to bring in new players

After Paul Lambert took charge of Aston Villa he wants Grant Holt with him together with other targets as he thinks Aston Villa need to change the team. Lambert was confirmed as manager just last Wednesday as he took over Alex McLeish. Paul Lambert did an impressive job at Norwich guiding the team from League one to the Premier League and managing also to secure the place in the Premier League fairly easily. At Norwich Graham Holt has done a really good job as a striker, and Lambert can't hide the fact that for him he's really good and that's why he wants him with Aston Villa. Holt scored an incredible 15 goals this season, and many thought that he could be called to the England squad which however did not materialize. Holt wants to leave Norwich as there are speculation that he even handed a transfer request to leave the club.

Lambert said that Holt goal scoring records speak for themselves and you can't admire that. He said that he wants him, but he does not know what's going to happen, so they have to see what will happen. When asked about other transfer targets he said that he met the chairman and chief executive and made his intentions known, as he gave a list of possible transfer targets that he wants at Aston Villa. He said that the administration at Aston Villa are great people to talk to, and in fact they assured Lambert that they will try their best to get them. But Lambert did not mention any other names.
