19-year-old rapper Lil Phat ( born, Melvin Vernell III) found shot dead at 6:40 pm yesterday in the 1001 block of Johnson Ferry Road in Atlanta, GA. USA.
He was found in a car parked in a parking structure next to Northside Hospital Women's Center, and rushed to nearby Northside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Lil Phat was signed to Trill ENT, which included artists Lil Boosie, Webbie, Foxx, Lil Trill, KaDe, Mouse & Shell.
According to the Atlanta Constitutional Journal, witnesses told investigators that they saw at least one suspect running from the scene of the crime. The parking deck has video surveillance cameras that the police are currently reviewing.
Police said Thursday night they knew of no connection between the shooting and the hospital or its Women’s Center.
